The Hermann Landmarks Commission meets regularly to review applications, consider preservation matters, and provide guidance related to Hermann’s Historic Overlay District.
Commission meetings are open to the public. Property owners, applicants, residents, business owners, and anyone interested in Hermann’s historic character are encouraged to attend.

The Landmarks Commission meets monthly on the:

What Happens at Meetings
At its meetings, the Commission may:
- Review applications for Certificates of Appropriateness
- Discuss proposed exterior changes in the Historic Overlay District
- Consider preservation guidelines and related city requirements
- Hear questions or comments from applicants and members of the public
- Advise on matters related to historic preservation in Hermann
For Applicants
If your project requires review, you may need to submit an application and supporting materials before the meeting. This may include drawings, photographs, product information, site plans, paint colors, material samples, or other documentation that helps the Commission understand the proposed work.
Applicants are encouraged to contact City Hall before submitting materials or beginning exterior work. Early communication can help determine whether a Certificate of Appropriateness is required and can make the review process smoother.
